Winslow Group Partners with Viva Energy to Introduce Biodiesel

Winslow Group, a civil construction services company committed to environmental protection, is actively transitioning to biodiesel with the assistance of Viva Energy. This shift aligns with their sustainability goals, driven by discussions at an energy summit sponsored by Viva Energy and organized by the Victorian Transport Association, as well as their 2022 carbon inventory results.

Biodiesel is an eco-friendly alternative to conventional diesel, featuring bio-sourced components derived from vegetable oils and animal fats. Winslow Group has opted for a B10 blend, signifying a 10% biodiesel mixture. The choice to embrace biodiesel stems from its ability to reduce carbon emissions without disrupting their construction operations.

The partnership with Viva Energy, a major fuel supplier in Australia, was a logical step for Winslow Group due to their long-standing relationship and shared sustainability objectives. The move to biodiesel offers environmental benefits while ensuring seamless project delivery, as construction schedules are critical to their clients.

Yap Chong Hua, Viva Energy's key account manager for transport, highlights the advantages of biodiesel, emphasizing the lack of impact on operations. The transition is made easy for Winslow Group, as they can order biodiesel without altering their practices. This means they benefit from reduced carbon emissions, contributing to the Australian Federal Government's sustainability goals.

The proactive adoption of greener alternatives positions Winslow Group ahead of the curve in a changing industry landscape, marked by an increasing demand for sustainable solutions. Viva Energy has provided comprehensive support and educational materials to facilitate the transition, empowering Winslow Group's team members to make informed choices.

As sustainability takes center stage across the supply and value chain, companies like Winslow Group are paving the way for a more eco-conscious approach to construction. While conventional fuels remain necessary during industry evolution, the collaboration between Viva Energy and Winslow Group demonstrates the potential of sustainable solutions.
