The study found that a significant majority of respondents, amounting to 86%, held the belief that the adoption of smart city initiatives could lead to an overall improvement in their quality of life. Moreover, 75% of those currently residing in smart cities expressed a keen interest in transitioning to even more advanced smart city models offering additional services.

The study also shed light on the challenges that may hinder the development of smart cities, with data protection and privacy concerns identified as the primary obstacles.
Notwithstanding these concerns, there is a positive outlook, as a majority of respondents, encompassing 77%, expressed their trust in surveillance technologies for enhancing their safety.
