Following a ceremony with construction company Multiplex, the delivery of the six-star COAST development on the Gold Coast has officially begun.
The developer Sammut Group of Sydney, in collaboration with Alceon Group, is building a 37-level, $200 million tower that has 53 residences.
After the demolition of the old apartment building at 43 Garfield Terrace, Multiplex will begin construction right away with COAST expected to be completed in early 2025.
The start of construction, according to Julian Sammut, chief operating officer of Sammut Group, is evidence of the landmark project's resilience in the face of a recent challenges that have caused many other Gold Coast projects to slow down or stall.
“This is a great moment for the project, the many buyers who have been quick to be part of this opportunity, and for the Gold Coast,” he says. “We have secured a fantastic partnership with Multiplex, who have an exceptional record of premier projects, which is what we demand for COAST.”
Several of South-East Queensland's most well-known developments, including Destination Gold Coast Tower 2 at Star Residences, Queens Wharf Brisbane, Jewel Gold Coast, and the W Hotel Brisbane, have been completed by Multiplex.
Glenn Robinson, Regional Director for Multiplex, said his team is thrilled to work with Sammut Group to bring a Gold Coast landmark project to life.
