Concept Design Competition Proposal From Erica&Mosh. Architecture For A Stunning New Pavilion At Barangaroo Based On a Fisherwoman's Net.
The concept is a lightweight high-tech structure that hovers over the pier giving clear water views. A flexible space for gatherings, events, and play.
The proposed pavilion, an ethereal space, a self-sustained ecosystem that softens the built form of the precinct with an overhead canopy of natural greenery, together with a soft white and pure ‘fish net-like’ canopy flows over the land and sea. This is supported by a monopole structure with a single point of contact to the ground allowing for minimal intervention to the existing environment.
